Monese invite code
Monese is a mobile money account provider founded in the UK in 2015. More than 2 million people have signed up, and it offers accounts in several currencies to residents of the UK and the 31 countries of the European Economic Area (EEA), without a credit check.
Our IITW invite code offer, which gave new users £10 or €10, ended on 31 December 2023. Monese still runs a refer-a-friend programme for its customers, with rewards shown in the app, and below we explain how it works. A note before you open an account: Monese’s current account business was acquired by the UK fintech Pockit in October 2024. In September 2025, Monese said it would likely need further funding within twelve months, and its auditors flagged a “material uncertainty” over its ability to continue as a going concern, according to City AM.
How does the referral program work?
Referral programmes reward existing customers for bringing in new ones. At Monese, the reward goes to the customer who shares their code, in two stages, as the friend they invite starts using the account.
If a friend invites you, these are the steps:
- Step 1: Download the Monese app.
- Step 2: Open the app and tap “Get started” to open a new account.
- Step 3: Enter your friend’s invite code when asked, as shown in the image below.
- Step 4: Once the account is set up, receive and activate your Monese Mastercard.
- Step 5: Make a card transaction of any amount. This completes stage 1 of your friend’s referral. Stage 2 is completed when you reach the minimum spend shown in the app. Rewards are paid after the transactions settle, which can take up to 72 hours.
Once you are a customer, you can share your own code. According to the referral programme terms, each customer can refer up to 15 people and earn up to 30 rewards (one per stage for each friend). Referrals who don’t complete the steps still use one of your 15 places. In October 2026, Monese’s website advertised up to £150 for referrers (£10 per friend) for a limited time.

Monese is not a bank. In the UK, accounts are provided by Monese Limited, an electronic money institution authorised by the FCA (FRN 900960). In the EEA, they are provided by PPS EU SA, authorised by the National Bank of Belgium. As e-money institutions, they must safeguard customers’ money in separate accounts, but e-money is not covered by deposit guarantee schemes such as the UK’s FSCS.
