To help, we have compared the best apps available to Indonesian investors in 2026: one international broker for global markets and one local app licensed by Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK, Otoritas Jasa Keuangan) for Indonesian and US stocks.

Interactive Brokers has proven to be one of the most reliable brokers in the market. Founded in 1978 and listed on the Nasdaq (ticker: IBKR), with more than 5.5 million client accounts and a place in the S&P 500 since August 2025, it has come through several financial crises and is regulated by top-tier authorities including the SEC and FINRA (US), the FCA (UK), ASIC (Australia) and MAS (Singapore), among others.

It offers some of the best stock trading apps available to Indonesian investors, providing access to 170 markets in 40 countries with sophisticated tools and low fees. The product range covers stocks, ETFs, options, futures, bonds, forex and funds in a single account, and currency conversion costs just 0.002% (minimum $2). IBKR also pays interest on uninvested cash. Keep in mind that IBKR is not licensed by the OJK, so your account is protected by the rules of the IBKR entity that holds it, not by Indonesian investor protection.

Interactive Brokers offers multiple platforms tailored to different levels of experience:

  • IBKR GlobalTrader: a user-friendly mobile app for beginners, focused on stocks, ETFs and options.
  • IBKR Mobile: the full-featured mobile app for stocks, ETFs, options, futures, forex and more, for intermediate and advanced traders.
  • IBKR Desktop and Client Portal: desktop and web platforms with a complete set of trading and research tools.
  • Trader Workstation (TWS): the flagship professional platform with advanced order types and algorithmic trading.

For Indonesian investors who are new to investing, we recommend starting with IBKR GlobalTrader, then graduating to IBKR Mobile or TWS as your needs grow.

#2 Ajaib

Indonesian stocks 0.15% to buy, 0.25% to sell (all-in)

Ajaib is one of the largest investment apps in Indonesia, with more than 5 million investors. Its brokerage arm, PT Ajaib Sekuritas Asia, is licensed and supervised by the OJK, and it is a member of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).

Through one app, you can invest in more than 800 Indonesian stocks, mutual funds, bonds and E-IPOs. Fees on Indonesian stocks are 0.15% to buy and 0.25% to sell, including broker fees, exchange levies, VAT and the 0.1% final tax on sales. Mutual funds have no buying or selling fee from Ajaib, and you can start from Rp10,000.

Ajaib also offers 600+ US stocks listed on the NYSE and Nasdaq, through the Ajaib and Ajaib Alpha apps, for a 0.3% commission on each buy and sell with no minimum. You can trade with rupiah, which Ajaib converts automatically, or hold a USD balance to avoid converting on every trade. US dividends are subject to a 15% tax.

On the downside, Ajaib gives access to far fewer markets than Interactive Brokers, and its 0.3% commission on US stocks becomes expensive compared with IBKR’s per-share pricing on larger orders. For a beginner investing in Indonesian stocks and funds, though, it is one of the simplest and most accessible options.

Other popular OJK-licensed apps include Stockbit, known for its investor community and research, and Bibit, focused on mutual funds and automated portfolios.

Methodology

When building this list, we focused on helping Indonesian investors make an informed choice when picking the right stock trading app. Each app we recommend has its own strengths, and we have tried to cover a diverse range that suits different investor profiles. The selection was based on the following criteria:

  • Fees and pricing: commissions, spreads, currency conversion fees, custody fees and any other costs that affect your net returns.
  • Range of products and markets: access to global stocks, ETFs, options, futures, bonds, forex, and crypto. We also check whether the platform offers real assets or only CFDs.
  • Trading platform and user experience: the quality, reliability, and usability of the mobile and web apps, including charting, order types, and customisation.
  • Educational resources: the depth and quality of in-app tutorials, market analysis and learning content, especially valuable for beginners.
  • Customer service: response times, channels available (chat, phone, email), and quality of support, including in local languages where possible.
  • Security and regulation: Ajaib is licensed by the OJK, while Interactive Brokers is regulated by top-tier authorities abroad (such as the SEC, FCA, MAS and ASIC). We also check that each platform actually accepts Indonesian residents.

Bottom line

To summarise, here are the best stock trading apps in Indonesia:

  1. Interactive Brokers: Best for global markets
  2. Ajaib: Best local app for Indonesian and US stocks

If you want access to global markets, low per-share commissions and cheap currency conversion, Interactive Brokers is our top pick. If you mainly invest in Indonesian stocks and mutual funds and want an OJK-licensed app in rupiah, Ajaib is the simpler choice. Many investors use both: a local app for Indonesian assets and an international broker for global diversification.

Whichever you choose, keep studying, know your investment profile and remember that investing involves risk.

FAQs

What is the difference between a stock and stock CFD?

While the stock gives you a property right over a share of the company, the CFD does not. The stock CFD is a derivative contract where the underlying asset is the stock and where the broker promises to pay you back the difference in value between the time you opened the position and the time you close it. CFDs have a leverage effect: gains and losses are magnified, and you may need to add money to keep a losing position open. This makes CFDs risky and generally unsuitable for beginners.

Is Saxo available in Indonesia?

Indonesia is not on the list of countries Saxo services, so we no longer include Saxo among the best apps for Indonesian investors.

Can Indonesians use foreign brokers?

Yes, international brokers such as Interactive Brokers accept Indonesian residents. However, they are not licensed by the OJK, so your account is protected by the rules of the country where the broker entity is regulated, not by Indonesian investor protection. Local apps such as Ajaib are licensed and supervised by the OJK.
