Going on a holiday without the hassle of exchanging some of your money into local currency, especially without those massive exchange fees, looked like something that came from a futuristic dimension. Fortunately, Revolut came along in 2015, and the future suddenly became present.

In this post, we take a look at Revolut’s availability worldwide and uncover some of the alternatives for users who are not eligible to open a Revolut or Revolut Trading account!

Currently, Revolut (banking) is available for legal residents of the following countries and territories:

Revolut restricted countries (Lite account)

Currently, users from the following countries cannot create a Lite account. Existing customers can keep accessing Lite app until further notice:

Revolut Business is available only for companies registered in the European Economic Area.

Revolut Trading supported countries

Revolut stock trading services are available for legal residents of most countries where Revolut banking services are available.

However, it is not possible to trade stocks in the following countries: Belgium, Italy, Germany, and Japan. It’s not possible to trade crypto in some countries as well. Nevertheless, there are plans to expand these services globally soon.

A popular digital bank based in Germany. N26 is available in 22 European countries and the US.

Paypal

A global online platform to send and receive money for personal and business transactions. Paypal is available in more than 200 countries around the planet, including the US, UK, India, China, Australia, New Zealand.

Wealthsimple

The Canadian equivalent to Revolut. Allows users to send and receive money, invest in stocks and crypto, and more.

Cash App

Cash App allows users to make payments and spend using a debit card and even invest in stocks and cryptocurrencies. It only operates in the UK and the United States.
