On 13 October 2026, Plus500 announced that it has conditionally agreed to buy Hedge Capital Markets Inc., a US broker-dealer registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Today, Plus500US only offers futures and prediction markets in the US. With Hedge, Plus500 gets the license it needs to offer stocks, options and ETFs to US retail investors for the first time. All of these products are planned for a single Plus500 “super app”, expected to launch in Q1 2027.

Key facts:

  1. The deal: Plus500 is buying Hedge, an SEC-registered broker-dealer founded in 2021 that offers US stocks and ETFs.
  2. Not closed yet: the acquisition still needs FINRA approval under Rule 1017 and the end of a required notice period.
  3. Funding: paid entirely from Plus500’s own cash, which stood above $860 million on 30 June 2026. The price was not disclosed.
  4. Super app: futures, prediction markets, stocks, options and ETFs in one Plus500 app, expected in Q1 2027.
  5. For current users: nothing changes today. You can keep trading futures and prediction markets on Plus500US as before.

Disclaimer: Trading futures and event contracts involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. With futures you may lose more than your original investment. The launch date of the super app and the closing of the acquisition are forward-looking statements by Plus500 and may change.

What Plus500 announced

Plus500 is a global trading group listed on the London Stock Exchange since 2013 and part of the FTSE 250 index. In the US it has operated since 2021 through Plus500US Financial Services LLC, a futures commission merchant regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and a member of the National Futures Association (NFA).

That CFTC license covers futures and event contracts, but not stocks or ETFs. Those are securities, and offering them requires a broker-dealer registered with the SEC and a FINRA membership. Building that from scratch takes years, so Plus500 chose to buy a company that already has it.

Plus500 is also opening a new office in New York, which will work alongside its existing Chicago operations. Hedge’s team will join the New York hub.

Plus500’s CEO David Zruia said the group now has “the people, licences and technology to accelerate our growth”.

Who is Hedge?

Hedge was founded in 2021 by Kyle Al-Rawi and Yash Khandelwal to give a younger generation of US retail investors access to exchange-listed securities, such as stocks and ETFs.

For Plus500, the value is less in Hedge’s customer base and more in its registrations. Hedge is a broker-dealer registered with the SEC and a member of FINRA and the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). SIPC membership matters for investors: it protects securities and cash held at a member broker up to $500,000 (of which up to $250,000 in cash) if the broker fails. It does not protect you against market losses.

Closing the deal depends on FINRA approving the change of ownership under FINRA Rule 1017, which applies whenever a member firm is sold or changes control.

What Plus500US offers in the US today

Plus500US is today a futures broker with prediction markets built into the same app. Here is what you get right now:

  • Futures: contracts on equity indices, metals, energy, crypto, forex, agriculture, interest rates and single stocks.
  • Prediction markets: event contracts on economic, financial, political and sports outcomes, launched in February 2026. They are listed on Kalshi, and Plus500 handles the clearing.
  • Costs: no platform fees and no market data fees. Prediction market contracts cost $0.01 per contract in commission, plus exchange fees.
  • Minimum deposit: $10.
  • Demo account: free, with virtual funds.

What you cannot do today is buy shares of Apple or an S&P 500 ETF directly. The closest product is a single stock or index future, which is a leveraged contract with an expiry date, not ownership of the stock. That is the gap the Hedge deal is meant to close.

New users who trade at least $10 in prediction market contracts after their first deposit can claim a $20 trading bonus, as explained in our Plus500US promo code guide.

What changes with the Plus500 super app

Many US investors today use one app for stocks, another for futures and a third for prediction markets. Plus500’s plan is to put all of these in one app, run on its own technology, with one account.

Plus500 has not yet published pricing, account types or a minimum deposit for stocks and ETFs. We will update this article once those details are public.

Plus500 also said it intends to take the super app to other countries after the US launch, without giving dates.

What it means for you as a Plus500US customer

Nothing changes today: your futures and prediction market positions, fees and app stay the same while the deal awaits approval.

One app instead of three: if the super app launches as planned, you could hold long term ETF positions and trade futures or event contracts from one login. That is the same idea behind Robinhood’s move into prediction markets, but from the opposite direction.

Different rules per product: one app will not mean one set of rules. Stocks and ETFs will fall under SEC and FINRA rules with SIPC protection, while futures and event contracts stay under the CFTC, where SIPC does not apply. Check which entity holds each part of your account once the app is live.

Bottom line

Plus500 is buying Hedge, an SEC-registered broker-dealer, with its own cash (over $860 million on 30 June 2026). If FINRA approves the deal, Plus500US will add stocks, options and ETFs to its futures and prediction markets, all in one app expected in Q1 2027.

Until then, Plus500US remains a futures and prediction markets app, with a $10 minimum deposit and $0.01 per prediction market contract.
